DWN Builder Co., Ltd. ordered waist bags and crossbody bags in 100% waterproof canvas with a newly designed buckle. The features: 100% PET material (canvas) that is environmentally friendly, strong, and durable; lightweight with vivid colors and easy to use; remarkably spacious; a double-belt shoulder strap that prevents shoulder pain and strap twisting; an interior lined with parachute fabric offering a degree of water resistance; a velcro closure that holds the bag firmly shut; one front pocket and one interior pocket; a strap adjustable at the side of the bag; and a size of 25 x 10 x 20 cm (W x L x H). The front of the bag is screen-printed to the customer’s design. The order was for 3,000 units with a production lead time of 20 days after the customer sent the purchase order (PO).
The production process began with the customer asking us to estimate price and lead time. We produced a sample bag and submitted it with a quotation and production schedule within 5 days. We had to compete against other factories (the customer did not tell us how many), and we won the bid on both price and lead time — we are confident we won because we own our own screen-printing shop, giving us full control over cost and schedule. Once the customer confirmed the order, we began by bringing fabric, hardware, raw materials, and zipper pulls into the factory. With materials ready, we cut the fabric to the bag pattern, then sent it to our screen-printing shop — the screen block for the letter P logo had already been made at the sampling stage, which keeps production fast; the difficult, slow step is producing the customer’s sample. After printing, we assembled the bags, finishing with the double-belt shoulder strap and the printed front panel sewn onto the finished bag. After sewing, the bags went through quality control (QC) and packing, and our shipping department delivered the order to DWN Builder Co., Ltd. The customer requested 30-day credit terms for billing; when the 30 days were up, we sent a messenger to collect the cheque from the customer.
